I’m New

Whether you're exploring faith, new to the area, or simply looking for a church home, we are glad you're here.

A WELCOME MESSAGE

We know visiting a church for the first time can feel a little uncertain, so we’d like to help you know what to expect before you arrive:

When You Arrive

On Sunday mornings, you will be welcomed at our Market Street entrance by one of our friendly ushers. They will greet you, provide you with a worship bulletin, and show you into the sanctuary. We want every visitor to feel comfortable and at home from the moment they walk through our doors.

WORSHIP

Our worship services follow the traditional Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) order of worship and are centered on Scripture, prayer, inspiring music, and thoughtful preaching.

  • Sunday Worship: 11:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

  • Communion: Celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Member, friend, or guest  — all are welcome to the table, regardless of age, background, or profession of faith.

  • Bulletin: Updated weekly with the order of worship, announcements, hymns, prayers, and special music.

Whether you are familiar with Presbyterian worship or visiting for the first time, we invite you to participate as you feel comfortable.

AFTER WORSHIP

Following each service, we gather for fellowship in the Makemie Room. We hope you will stay for coffee, snacks, conversation, and the opportunity to meet members of our church family. It's a relaxed and welcoming time to ask questions, make new friends, and learn more about our congregation.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation is more than having your name on a church roll — it is a commitment to grow in faith, worship regularly, care for one another, and participate in Christ's mission in the world. At Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church, members are called to share their time, talents, and resources, support the ministry of the church, and live out God's love through service, compassion, and faithful discipleship. Together, we seek to build a welcoming community where all are encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and with one another.
