Adults
Learning and growing in faith is a lifelong endeavor. At Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church, adults at every stage of their journey will find opportunities to engage in Scripture, explore questions of faith, and build meaningful relationships with fellow believers.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Twice monthly, Sunday mornings 9:45–10:45 a.m.
September–June
Each session features an in-depth look at selected Scripture followed by lively discussion of its meaning and application to daily life.
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
Once each month, September–June
Naomi Makemie’s active Presbyterian Women (PW) group meets monthly from September through June for Bible study, fellowship, lunch, and a brief business meeting. PW supports local organizations and charities through proceeds from the annual Onancock Calendar, featuring original pen-and-ink drawings of local landmarks.
MEN'S BIBLE STUDY
Last Friday each month
Our Men’s Bible Study group meets year-round on the last Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m. for Bible study, fellowship, and plenty of coffee and donuts. All are welcome!
MOVIE NIGHT & POTLUCK DINNER
Typically the third Wednesday of each month, September–May
Join us for Looking Closer, a time of fellowship, a shared meal, and a thoughtfully chosen film that opens into discussion about faith and the themes it raises. Conversation is always lively.

Lenten &
Advent Series
Seasonal
Each year, special programming marks the seasons of Lent and Advent. These may take the form of Wednesday evening gatherings with a meal and teaching led by lay leaders and the Pastor, or devotionals prepared by the Christian Education team for use at home.
Women’s Retreat
Once annually
A dedicated one-day or two-day overnight experience for the women of the congregation. These retreats blend biblical teaching with time for sharing, creative activity, quiet reflection, and the kind of unhurried fellowship that deepens friendships and faith alike.
